I haven't slept much since waking up Sunday morning at 9:30am. The night before we departed Columbus I only slept maybe 30 minutes and just laid there with my eyes closed until 2:30. The flight to Paris didn't offer any sleep time either as there was a 3 year old two rows back that would scream and cry every hour. Screaming kids is already one of my biggest pet peeves, so that added to my lack of sleep. I ended up just closing my eyes, using ear plugs, and gathering restful energy instead of actually sleeping. Then I watched The Dark Knight on the Air Paris personal TV we all got. Gotta love the Joker in that movie. Kudos to Heath Ledger, R.I.P. man.
Arrived in Paris around 6AM Paris time, about midnight EST. Tried sleeping on the ground but the airport was extremely cold. I managed to get a tad more rest by plugging my ears with ear plugs and covering my eyes. Then I was getting hungry and learned that French food is just gross. A cheeseburger and bottle of water cost me $12.50 USD. The cheeseburger tasted more like paint, and I know what that tastes like from 13 years of playing paintball.
Finally we boarded our flight to Tel Aviv, but then we had to wait for an extra hour almost for passengers who were in line at security still. The flight was good, I actually slept for about 2 of the 4 hours. We arrived in Tel Aviv around 6PM Israeli time, got our luggage (well most of us did, some lost theirs) and headed to the bus. The bus ride was kinda boring at first until we started riding through the streets of Tiberius. The city looks so cool at night! After arriving to our hotel and offing our luggage on the bell boys, we had fabulous dinner in the hotel restaurant. The choices were endless and the food was amazing! Jalepenos are 10x hotter here, and that is a good thing.
Here are some pics of our room and the view from our balcony. Off to bed soon.
